Latest Insurance Developments in 2013 Indiana Legislative Session

Hot off the presses, here’s the latest Insurance Legislative Report from our colleagues at Bose Public Affairs Group. Click the image below for the full report.

Two noteworthy developments from the report:

  1. Certificates of Insurance: HB 1322, the NCOIL Model bill–which specifies requirements related to a certificate of insurance issued in connection with property, operations, or risks located in Indiana–passed the House Floor by a vote of 97-0.
  2. Department of Insurance:  The comprehensive Indiana Department of Insurance Bill, HB 1321, passed out of the full House by a vote of 95-0. The bill was amended on the House Floor to include some technical changes to the standard valuation law to make the bill more compatible with the NAIC version.

I received my doctor of jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where I was the Director of Communications for the Legal Research Board and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. Before attending law school, I taught high school geography, government and economics in San Antonio, Texas.
